Sept. 20 – Oct. 12, 2016

This was the year my wife Elsa and I finally decided to tour the East Coast. We had been planning for years to see the fall colors and the important sites in that part of the United States of America. I personally wanted to see Ellis Island and the State of Liberty, something I fondly remembered seeing as a 6-year-old boy when I came to the USA as an emigrant from Germany in 1952.

So we packed our bags and took a plane to Boston, Massachusetts. This was to be the start and finish of our tour. We rented a Chevy Impala at Logan airport, making sure it had OnStar, a GPS system that would guide us during our 21 days traveling through 9 states and Washington D.C. And then we headed out on our adventure.
