Dan Yee tells me that August 5, 2023 (Saturday) will be a good date for Richard Hom and the DulTones to entertain us at our 60th Reunion. The reunion luncheon will take place at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center on 19th and Sloat (across from Stern Grove) in San Francisco. It will be salad, entree, and dessert. More details about the 60th Reunion will be forthcoming in the months ahead. Dan said: I just started finding a place because many halls are closed and will not open again due to the pandemic.

May 2020 --
Dan Yee sent me this email today: "The Party we planned for our 75th Birthday celebration in 2020 will need to be cancelled. We can have our 60th Class Reunion in 2023. All reservations will be refunded. We can ask the DuTones to do the entertainment in 2023." It is unfortunate that the Year of the Rat did not turn out to be a "propitious year" after all. Nor was the number 75 such an auspicious number for us during this Coronavirus Era. Wishing everyone a safe, healthy journey on the rest of the year.

NEWS (Mar. 14, 2020) -- Due to the "National Emergency" regarding the Coronavirus, Dan Yee and the planning committee have postponed our 75th Birthday Party until summer (or fall). Stay tuned for further announcements.

Previous Announcement -- Update (Feb. 24, 2020)

Dan Yee has made reservations for the Harbor Villa Restaurant. (Nov. 7, 2019)
Dan Yee wants to get the ball rolling early to inform our GWS'63 classmates of the upcoming 75th Birthday Party. So I will post the registration form and the menu on our class announcements page for all our classmates to see -- and download a registration form to send to Dan Yee (with the money). Spread the word to classmates who don't have access to Facebook (or a computer). Since the official registration date -- as designated by Dan Yee -- starts on Nov. 8, 2019 and ends on March 28, 2020 there's plenty of time to think about attending and arranging necessary plans. So click on the following link to get your registration form:

BREAKING NEWS: GWHS murals are in the news, locally and nationally. In the interest of education and preservation of our GWHS murals, I have created a webpage that I hope will help Save Our Murals. We must all work together to make sure our George Washington school, history, and art are saved from destructive forces.

Previous announcement:
75 -- yes, that's next year (2020). Dan Yee wants to make sure we celebrate our journey towards making it to 75 years (an auspicious number in Chinese numerology) next year. Dan Yee sent me this email: "What date in April 2020 do you want us to have our GWHS celebration when we turn 75? There are 4 choices: April 4, 11, 18, or 25. Lunch at Harbor Villa Chinese Restaurant in Diamond Heights (SF) shopping center. Lots of parking. 7 course meal. Around $50-60. Let me know your choice of dates. I will book event next month (for our GW Class of '63). I will put down a deposit to make sure we have a place to celebrate (in Chinese style, with lots of good Chinese food)."
[Note: Dan Yee found out that he has to wait until December to book the place. Nevertheless, the April 4, 2020 is still the date for our 75 years celebration.]
Harbor Villa Restaurant, SF
So far it appears April 4 or 18 are most requested (best choices). April 11th is Easter weekend. If you have a preference, send me (Paul) or Dan Yee an email (dan.yee@yahoo.com).
The volunteer committee (from 55th Reunion) seems to favor April 4th.
It's official -- Dan Yee just texted me -- April 4, 2020 is the date for the 75 Celebration! Mark it on your calendar -- next year!

OLD ANNOUNCEMENT (May 31, 2018)
Please check the Reunion page 55th Reunion for our recent reunion (April 28, 2018) at the Irish Cultural Center in San Francisco.

OLD ANNOUNCEMENT (April 28, 2017):
Hello Class:
Amazing how fast five years flies by these days, isn't it? Well, one year from today, we'll be holding our 55th class reunion at the Irish Cultural Center in San Francisco. The hours will be from 12:00-4:00 PM. Hopefully, this is enough lead time for you to plan for it if you are interested in attending. As we've learned from the past that simple is best, how we plan to do the reunion this time is for those interested to send their reservations and payments to Raggy who will be in charge of finances. I will be sending out the reservation form to you sometime in the next 6 months.
The Reunion Team this time around consists of:
Paul Wigowsky, chairman - paulj@wigowsky.com
Raggy, finances - rhunter@stifel.com
Wings Hom, our boots on the ground - wingshom053@gmail.com
I'll be handling all of the internet and phone communications with some help from Marilyn Lee. Any questions, please feel free to contact me via e-mail or phone.
This may very well be our last one, and so let's make it a good one.
Sheldon

Note from our "Fearless Leader" (Sheldon Wong)
Hey Gang:

One of the great side benefits that I got to indulge in when I started doing the outreach to the class for our reunions was to spend a little time with you either in person or on the phone and hearing about some of your life stories. It seems as if every one of you has a story to tell, and I know that the rest of us would like to hear them. To that end, Paul Wigowsky has created a journal and a mechanism for you to write and post anything about you that you would care to share. Like what you've done since we graduated from GWHS as well as any backstories you'd like to share.
Check out
Paul's Web Site -- Life Stories, Class Pictures, and much more.

As many of you know, I created a "Group" page on Facebook for our class with a much easier format to leave messages. This page is only open to our classmates and friends of the class. So, to be able to post on it, you either need for me to admit you, or we do the 'friend' thing and I can automatically add you to the list. Please check it out as we want to hear from you there as well. It's the only place that I can think of where it is a central point of contact just for us.
See us at Facebook - GWHS Class of 1963. E-mail me if you have any questions.
