MY CREATION MYTH
by Caleb Y.

In the beginning when the earth was only land there were four gods: Lux, Rax, Saber, and Jashar. Rax ruled the sky and Lux ruled the land.

Saber and Jasher had nothing to rule so the gods created the oceans for Saber and animals for Jashar. Lux was angry because there were animals walking all over his land and the water taking over some of his land.

Lux took five of Jashars animals: the deer, the bear, the whale, the bird, and the lion. He killed them and made humans out of their blood. He told them to kill and eat all the animals they wanted and that is how humans became hunters.

The animals heard of the humans and told Jashar; he sent the animals to destroy Lux. Lux put a mountain in the way that no animal could cross it. So Jashar sent the birds to destroy Lux. Lux called on Rax to help him. Rax made a huge windstorm so that the birds couldn’t fly. Jashar got his sword and his spear and set off to dig a hole through the mountain.

Once he got through, Rax and Lux saw him they called on Saber to help them defeat Jashar. The battle was a short one since it was three to one and he was quickly destroyed.

After the battle they needed a new god and they made one and called him Johtox. Johtox loved the new world.

When winter came the humans of the earth started complaining; they said “we are so cold the raw meat is freezing.” Rax sent a lightning bolt from the sky and it hit a tree. The humans then had fire.

Soon they wanted other food to eat and they said, “we are so tired of eating just meat we want something else to eat.”

So the gods told them of the plants and fruit that they could eat. They were finally happy.
