MY CREATION MYTH
by Nina Zarkoff
Once a speck of light was traveling in the lonely empty space. When he came along this blue planet. He stopped and went around it seven times at the speed of light, He named it Earth.
The light landed on it and put a green dye on it and formed in to land. Next he made paper figures that turned in to trees. But there was only one piece of land. So he split it. Then he said,”This land is too lonely.”
He found some clay by the ocean, and made clay figures. But the clay figures didn’t work out; some had short hands, some had uneven legs.
Then he took sand and other colors, then made people black ones, white ones, tan ones, and brown ones.
Then he said, “ What will they drink ? What will they eat?”
So he made seeds and planted crops which turned out into beautiful tomatos and beans, corn, and all the other things you can think of.
Next he made rivers and lakes. There is still something missing. So he made animals, insects, and fish. How will they breathe? So he made air and oxygen.
The land looks fine but there is still something missing. So he made valleys, mountains, and volcanoes. Now the land looks fine.
He made himself in the sky and made himself so big and said, ”I’m the sun who shines over people.” So that is how the Earth came alive.
