My Creation Myth
by Marisela A.
The Lady Who Created the Earth

Once apon a time there was a lady who wanted to create the earth. The thing she started with was the sky. To make the clouds she got soft cotton and put the cotton in the cloud that she sewed with white string. The way she made the sky blue was she cried and got the tears and threw them in the air. She made the sun with the sparkle of her eyes.

The way she created the moon was she made a shape like a circle with a pencil and threw it like a frisbee into the sky. The way she created the stars was with paper and she got some light from the sun. She cried and her tears went down the sky and she only cried in one spot and there was a puddle and the puddle got bigger and bigger untill she made a river and that is how she made water.

For the plants to grow healthy they need water, sun, and dirt. The way she created the air, she blew with her mouth and she blew up in the sky. So people can live they need water, air and food. Animals need the same things. If they don’t they will die. She made food for the people. She got the food from the plants, animals, and sea creatures.

She made toys for kids out of wood. The way she got wood was from trees. The trees were by the mountains. The other things she created out of wood was houses for people to live in and protect them from the rain and the cold. She made wagons with wood and that would take the people to different towns, to work and take the kids to school.

She made clothes for the families. She sewed the clothes with material and a needle.

She created fire with wood to make the house warm when it is cold.

The next thing she created was petroleum for the stove to cook and for the lamps to give light and to see at night . She created sticks and the sticks were made of wood and they used them to eat their food. She created baby cribs.
