Atlantis: the Lost Empire / Student Summaries
Once there were 9 young gods. First there was Merc. He was the weakest one of them all. Next was Vennerie. She was the only girl goddess at the time. Eethie was the god of perfectness. Then there’s Maree. He was the only red god in the heavens. There was also Jupee. He was the only cyclops god. Laziest was Satten. Urie was the god of the sky. Neppie is Triton’s son, and lastly Plutus is the youngest of them all.
The young gods were worst enemies. They couldn’t get hurt physically, so they fought verbally. “I hate you!” were the starting words of their endless fighting. Occasionally, there were things like,ds “You are such a dork!” “ You aren’t really strong” and “I could take you out!” Each day ended with, “I hate you more!”
The parents of the gods found out of their fighting. It was non-stop!!!!! By the next day, they came up with a plan. They had tried everything! Almost. They told all of their children to pick their favorite rocks, and bring it to the courtyard.
The gods thought that was easy. Vennerie’s rock was reddish yellow( the color of her make-up). Merc’s was a small stone. Neppie’s was a pretty bright blue, with gray in the middle. Eethies was a clear blue, with green parts. Marree’s was all red. The yellow stone with a ring around it is Satten’s. Urie’s is blue-green, solid, and looked like the neverending sky he called his kingdom. Jupee picked a huge red one with a brownish red spot to describe his cyclop’s eye. At last, Plutus also picked a small stone.
When they all had their rocks at the edge of the heavens, in the courtyard, they were all directed to throw their rocks into the neverending blindness they called space. When they stopped, they were all in a row. They looked magnificent.They all named their rocks next. Merc’s rock was Mercury. Vennerie’s is Venus. Eethie’s was Earth. Marree’s was Mars. Juppee’s Jupiter. Satten’s Saturn. Urie’s Uranus. Neppee’s Neptune, and Pluttie’s Pluto.
All of the nine gods’ rocks are the planets. Every time they get mad, they hurl another rock into space. They are the stars.
