The Story of Moses

by Alyssa L.

This story was a true story. The story was about a slave who had 3 children; one was a baby boy. This women didn’t want her baby to have to grow up in the life of a slave. She just wanted a good life for her baby boy. She placed him in a basket, and before she let him float away she sang him a lullaby.

The basket happened to float over to the Pharaoh's wife. She loved the baby, and after deciding to keep him she named him Moses.

He grew up in the Pharaoh's family, the ones who owned the slaves. What he didn't know was that his brother, sister and himself were also slaves.

The funny part was when Moses and Rameses were racing back to the palace nd destroyed everything in their way. But it wasn't so funny when Rameses got all the blame. His father (the emperor) told him that the position of Emperor had been passed down for generations, and he wasn't about to let a weakling stop the chain.

After Rameses had left, Moses went and talked to his "father" (not his real father, but the emperor). He told him Rameses was reliable and responsible and that he just needed the chance to prove it. Later that night they went to a special dinner and the Emperor anointed Rameses as the one who ruled all the temples. As the ruler of the temples, Rameses appointed Moses as the architect.

Later that night while Moses was out walking around, he walked over to some slaves (which happened to be his real brother and sister). Miriam (his sister) tried to tell Moses about his real life, but he didn't believe her until she started to sing him the lullaby his mother had sang him before she let him go in the river.

While Moses was out wayching the slaves work, he saw a taskmaster whipping an old man cause he wasn't working fast enough. Moses ran over to the taskmaster and tried to stop him from beating the poor old man. Moses accidentally pushed him off the ledge and killed him. With guilt Moses ran and ran as far as he could and took of all his jewels and everything that had to do with his palace life.

In the morning Moses saw some older men picking on some little kids, so he quickly scattered the men off and saved the little girls. The little girls' father thanked him and invited him to dinner. Later that night he found out that the Father of the children he had saved was the one who looked out for the group that was hiding far away from where the slaves lived.

Moses began a new life as a shephard. He also married a slave he used to make fun of.

One day one of his sheep was running away. He caught up to it and followed it into a cave. As he looked ahead he saw a glowing light and heard a voice (God). The voice told him, "This is holy ground. I have heard my peoples cries (his people are the slaves). I have sent you to lead them to freedom. Do not fear. I will help you and let you know what to say and do."

Moses ran home and told his wife what had happened. our kids have a future, a future in which they will be free. I must go to the King. His wife answered, "I am going with you."

When they reached the Palace, Rameses and Moses were very happy to see each other. Moses saw thay Remases had become the Pharaoh. Rameses wasted no time before telling Moses that he shall be the Prince of Egypt. But Moses replied, "I'm sorry, Rameses, but I cannot accept your offer. I am here only cause God has sent me to say, let his people go."

Rameses laughed and then asked, "What is this really about?" Moses said, "I am here only to tell you to let God’s people go." Moses took off the ring that meant that he was an architect. Rameses became very angry and felt that Moses had betrayed him. Rameses called out, "Because of Moses all the slaves must work twice as hard."

Moses was lost. He didn't know what to do or say. His wife came to him and told him, "God will not abandon you." Moses told Rameses, "LET MY PEOPLE GO." God told him to take the staff and touch the water, and then the water was red "blood". Rameses was not backing down, so God brought leprosy and drought and other plagues.

God came to Moses and told him to spread the word to all the slaves to kill a lamb and put the blood over the door because that night the Pharaoh's people would come and kill all the new born babies. That night the Pharaoh's people came and took all the new born babies, except for the ones that had blood over their door. God protected them.

When Moses went back to the temple he saw Rameses crying while holding his dead son. After that, Rameses knew Moses was more powerful than he was. So he commanded Moses and his people to go. So they gathered their things and left Egypt happily.

During the journy they came to a river. The Egyptian people came to attack. God spoke to Moses and told him to put his staff in the water. He did so. Just then the ocean split in half, leading the people through. When they were almost half way, the pharaoh caught up to them. They all hurried and crossed the ocean. When everyone was out, God put the flow back in the river so it became one. The pharaoh and his soldiers perished.

The slaves rejoiced and lived in freedom the rest of there lives.
